Major Problem On MOGGIL RD SPEEDING ZONE

This is the result of speeding drivers on Moggil Rd/Morrow Road each
day. It happens very very often. These animals matter.

This is their home too.

The new TARINGA GATEWAY PROJECT will increase this major problem 10 fold. The Wildlife/Brush & Ring Tail possums can't relocate NORTH< style="text-decoration: underline;">

One of the biggest problems facing the local wildlife will be their
own attempts at relocating from the area once the new TARINGA GATEWAY
PROJECT is in motion.

Nobody has even addressed these issues and it's a real tragedy about
to become much larger because of this new urban development.

The Harrys Road block of land has at least 14 brush tailed possums and
4 or 5 ring tail possums on a very small area of land. I know this
because I have lived here for over 5 years and worked to save their
lives from all the problems they face.

Read on in the blog about the other issues.

This is just 1 of the possums I've personally picked off the road, a
victim of speeding drivers early in the morning. it happens between
the hours of 5:30am to 7:00 am each day. I buried this little fella in
my back yard.

On Christmas day I picked another Male Brush tail up from Moggill
Road. The images were to brutal to show on this page.

THE MAJOR SPEEDING ZONE on MOGGIL RD/MORROW RD TARINGA

This area needs speed limits impossed or WILDLIFE SIGNS similar to those you see about KOALAs and KANGAROOs

SLOW DOWN! SAVE A LIFE

  2. I think it is appalling of you posting pictures of those poor dead possums. Show some respect for them and take those images down.
I sure hope you had nothing to do with their deaths?
If so you are a sick individual who needs to be reported to the RSPCA.

  4. It's heartening to read that someone cares about our wildlife.
Most people seem to have a complete disregard for wildlife.
I'm always very careful when driving in the country or near urban areas which are home to wildlife.
as much as it pains me to see your pictures, I think it's the only way to get through to some people, the dangers of busy roads and inconsequential attitudes of some drivers.

  5. I admire you for taking the time to high light this issue so others can learn of their plight. It is a disgrace that so many of us living in this amazing country know so little or show such a poor understanding of our amazing & unique native Wildlife and the challenges they all to often face because of our (human) often selfish ways. I know drive slowly and with great care especially at night and I also keep my dog & cat indoors now so they can not harm the urban wildlife as they go about getting their food of an evening. Well done for speaking up for those who can't. If only more people were like you and had a greater understanding of their surroundings. Keep up the good work!
